DYM Class Descriptions

Younger Baby Classes  (YB)

Picture
Age: 8 weeks to 12 months (approx)
These are babies on their backs and may be rolled over for 'tummy time' but are not yet crawling.  These classes all start with stretching and end with a short introduction to infant massage.  In the middle, we use multi-sensory cues to stimulate the brain. This includes visual tracking, audio tracking, gentle gross motor skills, music & movement, and vestibular activities.  Infant massage and instruction are offered at the end of each YB class. We are Certified by IAIM (International Association of Infant Massage) and as part of the YB curriculum we offer Infant Massage instruction to parents and family of infants.  Much emphasis is placed on attachment, bonding, parent/caretaker-to-child interaction and communication. A lot of “sensory conditioning” happens in these beginning classes allowing for future transitioning between activities and regulating their outside stimuli.
These are our youngest “Dynamic Minds!"

Older Baby Classes (OB)

Picture
Age: 12 months – 30 months (approx)
These are babies who are crawling but not yet walking.
These are our new movers and shakers! In this class we pump up the stimuli just a tad, and start to introduce social learning activities. These classes include core activities, learning activities, and sensory activities. We start modeling independence, social learning, and circle time. Importance is placed on all the learning tools introduced in the younger baby class, but with an older baby “on-the-move” twist. No walkers please.

Infant Massage

Picture
Infant massage instruction is offered as a parent training at the end of each Younger Baby Class.
We, at DYM, feel that parents should have access to this important education that promotes attachment and bonding immediately upon your baby's birth. Instructor Brett Vecsey is trained and will soon be certified in the techniques of IAIM (International Association of Infant Massage.)
This is set up to facilitate parents/family/caregivers on nurturing touch and communication with their infants.
